Matthew Szewczyk is an award-winning filmmaker, creative director, and producer of commercials, branded content, and short films. A video and photo creative with over a decade of experience on set, facing clients, and in the editing bay, his work includes collaborations with high-profile brands such as Uber, Hurley, America’s Best, Envista, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and entertainment giants Creative Artists Agency, Ridley Scott Associates, and Bally’s Interactive.

He won Best Director at the Studio City International Film Festival for his surveillance thriller, "The Right Hand of God," and his music video for the Brooklyn punk band Honduras was nominated for a Los Angeles Music Video Award. He wrote and directed "The Return," starring Aina Dumlao, which is based on the true story of a Filipino immigrant labor trafficked and held captive in Orange County, CA. The film premiered at Dances With Films, was integrated into the curriculum in Southern California high schools, and has amassed over 800,000 views online.

He holds an MFA in directing from Dodge College at Chapman University, but his film school truly began when he started his career working in development on Steve McQueen's Fela Kuti biopic. In his free time, he is an aspiring skier, live music junkie, and an amateur scholar of apocalyptic religions and commercial airline disasters.
